The Sete Vales Suspensos trail in Lagoa, recently elected as the best hiking destination in Europe, is one of the most beautiful trails in the Algarve. If you like a good walk and breathtaking views, this is a must-do activity on a visit to the Algarve.
The 5.7 kilometer (11.4 round trip) route runs along the coastal cliff from Praia da Marinha to the beach of Vale de Centeanes, and rewards the hiker with fantastic views of the Algarve coast. The route is very well marked, facilitating navigation, and there are also rest areas along the trail.
Along the way, you literally walk through the seven hanging valleys, which were once associated with the mouth of water lines that ran directly into the sea.
Along the trail, the landscapes are superb and you can still see several birds, which inhabit the rocky walls, pine trees, juniper forests and the typical Algarve tomcais. A paradise for photographers!
